Grazyna Ostas has been with Akol & Yoshii since 1987 and has overseen many of the firm’s major projects, supervising all phases of those projects from design through construction. She participates in business development, supervises production and creates systems for ensuring top quality design and continuous monitoring. She has also jointly developed the firm’s design standards and design presentations.

Grazyna’s areas of expertise include interpretation of educational specifications; site and building analysis; programming and space planning; selection of construction systems and materials for various design options; and production of comprehensive contract documents. She believes that the best projects are the result of teamwork between the architect, the client, and the contractor. She works closely with clients, consultants, the Division of the State Architect, and other governmental agencies to ensure that the requirements of each project are properly integrated into its design and that all requirements and specifications are adhered to during construction.

Grazyna creates an atmosphere throughout all phases that encourages input from many sources regarding design, cost, and practicality. Her collaborative style drives the firm’s underlying philosophy of understanding client’s needs and delivering projects that meet their expectations on time and within budget.
